Pune Metro: HCC-AL FARA’A JV gets Rs 484-cr Pune Metro contract

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) and AL FARA’A joint venture (JV) has been awarded Rs 484 crore contract  by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd for Pune Metro Rail Project.

The contract is for construction of eight elevated Metro rail stations, according to an India Infoline report. The work involves general and structural civil work of the station buildings and architectural & site development.

The 14.66km-long Metro line is completely elevated and has 16 stations out of which 8 are being built by HCC.

This is the second order that HCC has received from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) for the Metro project. The earlier order was for construction of nine elevated stations on line I.

HCC has also been associated with Delhi Metro’s 18.14 km tunnels and 13 underground stations. In Kolkata Metro, the company has constructed 6.47km tunnels in 6 packages that include 4 underground stations, the report said.

In Mumbai Metro I, the company has built 6 elevated stations.

Currently, the company is executing a section of Mumbai Metro Line II, involving 3,115-meter-long twin bored tunnels including 4 underground stations and a section of Bangalore Metro Rail Project involving 6,340-meter-long elevated corridor.
