Begins the process of compensation; till now it has issued Rs 208 crore for 60-odd buildings situated between Silk Board and Muneshwara nagar

He said, “Tenders have already been issued on both Electronics City and Whitefield lines. They are in the final stage of approval. In a month’s time, we will award the contracts. We have started issuing compensation to property owners located after Silk Board junction.” BMRCL has taken up RV Road-Bommsandra project under three packages: Bommasandra to Hosur Road, Hosur Road to HSR Layout and HSR Layout to RV Road.

The RV Road to Bommasandra line is the second lengthiest proposed under Phase II. Bangalore Metro is proposing a metro line across 19 km for which more than 420 properties will have to go. An official of BMRCL said, “The process is on to finalise compensation for properties identified on other stretches as well. On the Hosur road line, there are 280-odd properties between Muneshwaranagar and Bommasandra and compensation is being finalised on the stretch.” BMRCL has a proposal to build an elevated metro line on the road connecting Hosur Road, Silk Board and Bommasandra and sought permission from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The RV Road to Bommasandra line has metro stations at very important locations such as Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Silk Board, Electronics City and others. BMRCL will build 16 metro stations on the line.

BMRCL has also proposed metro intersection stations at Silk Board while a new metro line will be built from Silk Board to KR Puram (under Phase II – A). BMRCL is spending Rs 900 crore to build the intersection stations and the road-cum-rail flyover. It is said that Bangalore Metro is acquiring a total of 51 properties to build the intersection metro station and flyover at the junction.
